Distinguished Research Professor & Shackelford Distinguished Professor in Taxation Law Emeritus Walter Hellerstein testified before the New Hampshire Legislative Commission on Worldwide Combined Reporting for Unitary Business Under the Business Profits Tax during September.
Georgia Athletic Association Professor David E. Shipley published "Architects, Artists, Photographers, Property Owners, the Public and Their Rights: Reconciling VARA, the AWCPA, and Copyright Fundamentals" in 51 AIPLA Quarterly Journal 221 (2023).
University Professor & Kilpatrick Chair of Corporate Finance and Securities Law Usha Rodrigues testified about accredited investors before the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission's Investor Advisory Committee during September.
UGA Associate Provost & Kirbo Chair Elizabeth Weeks has been elected to the American Law Institute. The ALI is "the leading independent organization in the United States producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize and otherwise improve the law." The ALI's members work to "influence the development of the law in both existing and emerging areas," collaborate with other "eminent lawyers, judges and academics," give back to the legal profession and "contribute to the public good."
Professor & Practicum in Animal Welfare Skills Director Lisa Milot's research relating to pet overpopulation in Georgia was featured in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The article titled "Fulton bans unregulated pet sales" was written by Jim Gaines and published 9/22/23.
