Excellence in research, teaching, and scholarly engagement is a core mission of the Dean Rusk International Law Center at the University of Georgia School of Law.
That academic commitment earns recognition among U.S. law schools for international law, and in external partnerships with prestigious institutions like the American Society of International Law, the Atlanta International Arbitration Society, and the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies.
The Center promotes:
- Leading research and scholarship by internationally known faculty members who are dedicated to preparing our students for a globalized practice
- An extensive array of courses in international, comparative, and transnational law and policy, offered on our main campus in Athens and at other sites in the United States and Europe
- Global practice preparation initiatives like the Jessup and Vis moot court competitions, and the Legal Spanish Study Group, which we host in partnership with student coordinators
- In-residence visits by scholars and researchers from across the globe, some pursuant to established faculty exchanges
