Callaway Chair of Law Emeritus Ronald L. Carlson was featured in The New York Times regarding Georgia's citizen's arrest law. The article titled "The Citizen's Arrest Law Cited in Arbery's Killing Dates Back to the Civil War" was written by Frances Robles and published 5/13/20. This article was reprinted by other media outlets.
University Professor and Caldwell Chair in Constitutional Law Dan T. Coenen received the law school's Faculty Research Award for his article "Quiet-Revolution Rulings in Constitutional Law" in 99 Boston University Law Review 2061 (2019). An entirely external committee of former or current associate deans for research at other law schools and legal practitioners selected Coenen for this honor.
Callaway Chair of Law Emeritus Ronald L. Carlson was featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution regarding the appointment of Cobb County District Attorney Joyette Holmes to the Ahmaud Arbery case. The article titled "Cobb DA appointed to prosecute murder suspects in Ahmaud Arbery case" was written by Christian Boone, Jeremy Redmon and Alexis Stevens and published 5/11/20.
Hosch Professor Lori A. Ringhand has received a $50,000 grant from the Stanton Foundation to develop and implement an undergraduate class titled Democracy and the Constitution. This course will also be available to Master of Laws and Master in the Study of Law students in the spring of 2021.
Woodruff Chair in International Law Diane Marie Amann was featured in Vox regarding the U.S. Department of Justice's case against former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. The article titled "11 legal experts agree: There's no good reason for DOJ to drop the Michael Flynn case" was written by Sean Illing and published 5/8/20.
