Callaway Chair of Law Emeritus Ronald L. Carlson was featured in James magazine's 2020 list of Georgia's Most Influential Attorneys. Listed as a "Legal Legend," the article states: "No Georgia list would be complete without mentioning University of Georgia Law Professor Emeritus Ron Carlson and his son, GBI Chief Counsel Mike Carlson. Distinguished Research Professor & Shackelford Distinguished Professor in Taxation Law Emeritus Walter Hellerstein's treatise State Taxation was quoted by the Texas Supreme Court in Lockheed Martin Corp. v. Hegar (May 1, 2020) for the proposition that "a sales factor apportionment formula is intended 'to reflect the contribution of the market state to the taxpayer's income.'"
