M. Margaret McKeown

M. Margaret McKeown currently serves as a senior judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She was confirmed by the U.S. Senate to join the bench in 1998 and assumed senior status in 2022. 

Prior to becoming a judge, she was a partner at the law firm Perkins Coie working in both Seattle and Washington, D.C., where she specialized in antitrust and intellectual property law. Notably, she was the first woman partner at the firm. 

She has lectured and taught in the areas of intellectual property, international law, ethics and constitutional law at several U.S. law schools and internationally.
