Third-year student and Appellate Litigation Clinic participant Allison J. Fine argued the case N'Jai v. Department of Education before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. The clinic was appointed as amicus to address whether the government contacts exception to the D.C. long-arm statute protects only First Amendment contacts. Third-year students E. Hope Garrison and Robert G. "Rob" Wedge helped brief the case and prepare Fine for the argument.

Sarah Quinn has been appointed the director of the Dean Rusk International Law Center. For the last nine months, she has led the center on an interim basis. Named after the former U.S. Secretary of State who taught at the School of Law in the last decades of his career, the center has served as a nucleus for global research, education and service for the school since 1977.

Tillman who finished as national finalists in the inaugural Shark Beach Showdown Mock Trial Competition. The UGA team was undefeated heading into the finals. Davis was recognized for delivering the "best opening statement" during the four preliminary rounds. School of Law grads Jonathan (J.D.'16) and Whitney (J.D.'15) Stuart coached the team.

"Rob" Wedge served as coaches along with 2022 alumnus Cole M. Harper.
Congratulations to second-year students M. Drake Jones, Joseph P. Will and Emily C. Wood for finishing as finalists in the 36th annual Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition held at Pace University's Elizabeth Haub School of Law. The three-day appellate advocacy competition involved fifty-four schools and required the team to represent three different parties in six separate oral arguments. Jones and Wood won individual best oralist awards during each of the three preliminary rounds, and the team was undefeated going into the three-party final argument. The students were coached by third-year student Andrew C. Haygood and Assistant Professor Adam D. Orford.

As part of its ongoing, exhaustive effort to continually promote campus safety, the University of Georgia announced several additional measures today to further strengthen campus security on its Athens campus. “The protection of our students, faculty and staff at the University of Georgia is always top of mind for me and our senior administration, and we are continually evaluating our safety programs,” said President Jere W. Morehead. “This morning, I met with campus law enforcement officials to learn their recommendations for further enhancements. Every one of their recommendations was approved.”
