Walter W. Davis is a partner at Jones Day in Atlanta, where he specializes in corporate governance, internal investment, and mergers and acquisitions. From 2020 to 2022, he left the firm to serve as the first judge of the state of Georgia’s Business Court and oversaw the establishment of the court and authored over 130 opinions in approximately three years.
Previously at Jones Day, he chaired the Atlanta office’s Securities Litigation & SEC Enforcement Practice. Davis has served as co-chair of the Securities and Corporate Litigation Section of the Atlanta Bar Association and as a member of the bar’s Judicial Selection and Tenure Committee. After graduating from law school, he was a judicial clerk for Judge Beverly B. Martin of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Davis earned his bachelor's degree from Mercer University and his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University.
