The School of Law's innovative mentorship program has connected more than 700 law students with four-person support teams since its start in 2016. The mentor teams consist of upper-level law students, faculty members, career development officers and alumni/alumnae/professional mentors.

The mentorship program was initially designed for first-year Juris Doctor students to make the transition to law school easier and to encourage genuine connections between students and their mentors that would last throughout law school and beyond. The number of mentees has significantly grown over the years as students remain connected to their support teams as they advance through law school. Also, due to the popularity and success of the program, it was expanded to Master of Laws students.

The program is quite flexible as mentors and mentees are encouraged to find the communication style and frequency that works best for them. The law school also hosts a few events each year for students and mentors to meet face-to-face.

Alumni/alumnae and professional mentor support is provided by the School of Law Office of Student Affairs.
