Biographical Information

Charles H. Hooker III is currently a partner at Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton. He is co-chair of the trademark and copyright team, that includes more than 120 attorneys. With a focus on intellectual property enforcement, counseling and litigation, he has been named a Georgia Super Lawyer and a Rising Star for Intellectual Property Litigation by Super Lawyers magazine as well as a top attorney in Georgia Trend magazine’s Legal Elite. In 2022, he received the Pro Bono Partner of the Year Award for his work as lead counsel on a significant habeas corpus matter. 

He previously served as a guest lecturer at the law schools of the University of Georgia and Emory University for trademark and copyright courses. He frequently speaks on these topics at conferences and on panels. 

Hooker earned his bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College, his master’s degree from the University of Chicago and his Juris Doctor cum laude from Emory University. He served as the editor-in-chief of the Emory International Law Review and was judicial clerk for Judge Rhesa Hawkins Barksdale of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
