On Wednesday, February 24th (12-12:50pm), ACS @ UGA is hosting a panel conversation about the current state of housing justice in Georgia, with a specific focus on renters/landlords in the Atlanta metro area. The conversation will cover: the impact of COVID-19 on housing, the CARES Act's eviction moratorium (and foreclosure protections), the CDC moratorium, judicial emergencies, as well as any other policies that have affected the housing landscape in Atlanta. Speakers will also be asked to discuss potential policy and organizational solutions to fix a housing system that was arguably in crisis before the pandemic. Panelists include: Lindsey Siegel (housing attorney for Atlanta Legal Aid Society), Darrius Woods (attorney for Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation), and Alison Johnson (executive director of Housing Justice League).
