Stanton Distinguished Professor in Canine Welfare Law & Practicum in Animal Welfare Skills Director Lisa Milot was featured in Newsweek regarding the opinion of Americans when it comes to trusting their neighbors to watch their pets. The article titled “Americans don’t trust their neighbors with their pets” was written by Liz O’Connell and published 9/28/2024. The article was republished by the Miami Herald.
Marshall Chair of Constitutional Law Randy Beck published "A Role Model Among Law Professors" in 77 SMU Law Review 341 (2024).
Callaway Chair of Law Emeritus Ronald L. Carlson's book Carlson on Evidence (with M. Carlson) was recently cited by the Georgia Court of Appeals in the case Baker v. Cuthbertson to explain the standard for measuring prejudice in a civil case when a party claims prejudicial evidence was used against them at trial. This citation brings the total to 78 times that this text has been used by Georgia appellate courts to resolve evidentiary issues.
Assistant Professor Assaf Harpaz was selected as a laureate at the Journal of International Economic Law Junior Faculty Forum, where he presented “Global Tax Wars and the Shift to Source-Based Taxation” during September.
Callaway Chair of Law Emeritus Ronald L. Carlson's book Carlson on Evidence (with M. Carlson) was recently cited by the Georgia Supreme Court in Gallegos-Munoz v. State regarding the right to cross examine a witness about prior falsehoods authored by the witness. This citation brings the total to 77 times that this text has been used by Georgia appellate courts to resolve evidentiary issues.
