Marshall Chair of Constitutional Law Randy Beck published "State Constitutional Law: Standing to Litigate Public Rights in Georgia Courts" in 75 Mercer Law Review 297 (2023).
Associate Professor Jonathan Peters was elected president of the Georgia First Amendment Foundation for 2024. GFAF is a nonprofit and nonpartisan membership organization that works across Georgia to protect and advance free expression, information access, open records/meetings and the rights of peaceable protestors.
Wilson Associate Professor in Business Law Laura Phillips-Sawyer was featured in Motherboard/VICE Media regarding the major questions doctrine and federal agencies. The article titled "Amazon joins Elon Musk's SpaceX in mission to destroy federal agency protecting workers" was written by Jules Roscoe and published 2/16/24.
University Professor & Kilpatrick Chair of Corporate Finance and Securities Law Usha Rodrigues presented "Shareholder Democracy as Sword and Shield" as part of the Regulation and Markets Workshop series hosted by the Boston College Law School during February.
Ten university-wide projects devoted to advancing interdisciplinary research across multiple application areas have been awarded Presidential Interdisciplinary Seed Grants as part of the 2023 cohort. Brumby Distinguished Professor in First Amendment Law Sonja R. West, Associate Professor Matthew I. Hall, Associate Professor Christian Turner and Assistant Professor Thomas E. Kadri are among those included.
