Congratulations to second-year student Joseph H. "Joe" Stuhrenberg who was named best oralist at the 34th Annual Dean Jerome Prince Memorial Evidence Competition. The team, consisting of Stuhrenberg and fellow second-year students Amber D. Greenaway and Adeline B. Kenerly finished the competition as national semifinalists. Notably this is the first time a UGA student has been recognized as best oralist at this tournament. Third-year student Alexander "Alex" Weathersby served as coach.

Hosch Professor Lori A. Ringhand presented "Political Spending on the Internet" at the Museum of London as the Gresham College Fulbright Lecturer. Ringhand was selected from among United Kingdom Fulbright Award recipients to present the 2019 Gresham College Fulbright Lecture as part of her Fulbright Distinguished Chair Award.

Melton received the law school alumni/alumnae association's highest honor - the Distinguished Service Scroll - for their outstanding dedication and service to the legal profession and the law school. The School of Law's Associate Professor & Veterans Legal Clinic Director Alexander W. Scherr will receive the Engaged Scholar Award, which recognizes a tenured faculty member for contributions to advancing public service, outreach and community engagement at UGA with emphasis on endeavors such as engaged research and scholarship that is conducted for the benefit of, and in partnership with, a community; curricular engagement of students in academic service-learning courses; or mutually beneficial community-university partnerships that address critical community needs.

The School of Law's Appellate Litigation Clinic won a case before the Board of Immigration Appeals for a client who fled his country when the Russian Supreme Court banned his religion. The immigration judge initially granted the client asylum, but the Department of Homeland Security appealed, arguing that the client was not credible and that the judge should have required corroboration of his religious status in the form of a letter from his congregation. The case was briefed by third-year students Wade H. Barron, C. Daniel Lockaby and Sarah A. Quattrocchi and second-year student Addison Smith.
