For special events, presentations, or other occasions where you would like to make the experience available to audiences beyond those who can attend in-person, Computing Services has alternative broadcast options.
Live Streaming
Broadcast an event live on the internet via Ustream.tv:
- Ustream is an ad supported video service that will allow anyone with an internet connection to watch as an event happens.
- Events can be publically viewable or protected so that only individuals with a password can watch.
- Recorded events can be viewed at a later time on Ustream, or they can be limited to just broadcasting as the event occurs.
Video Hosting
Another option is video hosting on Vimeo.com. If you have videos created for a class to view on their own time, or perhaps would like a place to put videos created in the course of class, Vimeo is an ideal solution. The law library maintains a subscription to Vimeo, enabling premium features including:
- no advertisements
- availability of a suite of tools to help control where the videos can be viewed and who can view them
- videos hosted on Vimeo can be embedded in TWEN and the new course software being offered by CTL, eLC-New.
To arrange for streaming or video hosting, please send an email to lawit@listserv.uga.edu. If you anticipate you would like to stream an event, please contact us as soon as possible.
