Exclusive dealer of Caterpillar equipment in Georgia and leading distributor of several other premier equipment and commercial vehicle brands throughout the Southeast
Type of work: Student will be involved in contract drafting and negotiation, including principally commercial agreements (service contracts and procurement contracts), franchise agreements, and real estate agreements; litigation evaluation and management, including principally insurance defense (e.g., subrogation actions), collection claims, and employment actions; researching and drafting contract templates (e.g., improving sales agreements); researching and drafting company policies (e.g., improving contract workflow processes); researching and analyzing regulatory compliance obligations; and general counseling of business units on day-to-day operations.
Note: Externship may be in-person or hybrid. If hybrid, the student must be in the office in-person at least one (1) day per week.

Interest in heavy equipment industry (e.g., earth-moving equipment, paving equipment, forestry equipment, electric power generation equipment, commercial trucks) required; prior coursework or work experience in heavy equipment or construction industry, construction law, contract drafting and negotiations, business law, franchise law, consumer law, employment law, insurance law, warranty/UCC law, accounting or tax law, antitrust law, real estate development/land use law, and/or government procurement preferred but not required.
