Non-profit health system only 40 miles from Athens that cares for more than 1 million people through four hospitals and a variety of outpatient locations with a mission of improving the health of the community.
Type of work: Students will work on matters related to access to care, obligations to provide health care (including EMTALA), Georgia medical consent law, end of life issues, private health insurance and managed care, Medicare and Medicaid, regulation of health care providers, staff privileges and hospital-physician contracts, law of tax-exempt organizations, fraud and abuse laws, mergers and acquisitions, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and reform of the health care industry.
Note: Externship will be hybrid.
