5. Policy for Saturdays when UGA Football Games are played in Athens:
The Law Library will be open from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays when UGA football games are played in Athens.
6. Holiday hours:
The general rules guiding library hours during any holiday shall be to keep the Law Library open on the evening before a class day while allowing the staff to observe all university holidays. Usually this will mean that the library shall be open regular hours except on the actual holiday, when the library shall be closed. If, however, the holiday falls before a day of scheduled classes, the library will be open from 6:00 p.m. till the regular closing time for that period. This principle may be modified in any specific instance due to special circumstances, such as difficulty finding adequate student staffing to cover a holiday opening.
CHRISTMAS BREAK:Beginning on the last day of exams the Law Library will close at 5:00 p.m. From that date until UGA closes for the Christmas holidays, the library will operate on the Fall interim period schedule. The last day of library operations shall be the last day the University is open, regardless of whether subsequent days are on the official holiday schedule. The library will be closed during the UGA Christmas holidays. If December 24th is not a university holiday, and the university is open for business, the library will close to patrons at noon that day. After the holiday break the library will resume the Fall interim schedule until the day before the start of Spring classes.
THANKSGIVING:
The library will close at 5:00 on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The Law Library will be open the Friday after Thanksgiving from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. (i.e., the weekend hours during extended exam period, as classes usually have ended before the Thanksgiving break).
7. Spring Break:
Friday 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Sunday 11:00 a.m. - 2 a.m.
8. On Graduation Day the Law Library will open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m.
9. Whenever UGA closes for any emergency, such as inclement weather, the Law Library will be closed. The official policy of UGA central administration is to permit individual units to decide whether to close for inclement weather or other emergency situations on the weekends. The Director of the Law Library, in consultation with the Dean of the Law School, will make the decision whether to close the Law Library in such circumstances.
