After one week off, we'll pick up again with renowned attorney and UGA Law alumnus Emmet Bondurant, who will engage in a conversation with Professor Ringhand about the law and practice of partisan gerrymandering, especially in light of the upcoming census and a recent Supreme Court decision declaring the practice a non-justiciable political question. The United Kingdom's Garden Court Chambers presents the international series "Black Lives Matter," which will feature the law school's Associate Dean Andrea Dennis speaking about the criminalization of rap lyrics.
The Federalist Society is looking forward to hosting our Annual Judges Panel on February 18, 2021. Dean Randy Beck has graciously agreed to moderate the panel, and we are fortunate enough to host Judges Lisa Branch (11th Circuit), Britt Grant (11th Circuit), Billy Ray (Northern District of Georgia), and Tripp Self (Middle District of Georgia). The panel will be held virtually via Zoom at noon (12pm) on Thursday, February 18th. We look forward to seeing you there!
Firm visits provide a unique opportunity for 1Ls & LLMs to visit Atlanta law firms, hear from their attorneys about the practice, and meet attorneys during a reception.
Transportation provided: buses depart from UGA approximately 2 hours before the start of the visit, and return to UGA afterwards.

We will hear from Court Watch, a citizens' advocacy group that works to witness, record, publicize, and ultimately affect how justice is dispensed in Athens courts.
