Assistant Clinical Professor & Wilbanks Child Endangerment and Sexual Exploitation Clinic Director Emma M. Hetherington will serve as a co-principal investigator for a UGA Center on Human Trafficking Research & Outreach (CenHTRO) grant that will provide support to Georgia-based stakeholders responding to domestic minor human trafficking and the commercial and sexual exploitation of children. The funding is part of CenHTRO's inaugural Faculty Research Seed Grants on Human Trafficking in the U.S. and Across the Globe, which is supported by the UGA Office of the Provost.
Associate Professor Laura Phillips Sawyer presented on the uses of history in contemporary regulatory policymaking at the American Society for Legal History Annual Meeting during November.
Brumby Distinguished Professor in First Amendment Law Sonja R. West presented as part of the First Amendment Jurisprudence panel at the Practising Law Institute Communications Law in the Digital Age 2021 conference during November.
Callaway Chair of Law Emeritus Ronald L. Carlson was featured in The New York Times regarding the Ahmaud Arbery trial. The article titled "Discussions of Race Are Notably Absent in Trial of Arbery Murder Suspects" was written by Tariro Mzezewa, Giulia Heyward and Richard Fausset and published 11/19/21.

The article titled "Explainer: What Are the Charges in Ahmaud Arbery's Killing?" was written by Kate Brumback and published 11/18/21.
