JLSA - Bagels on the Lawn

Bagels on the Lawn with Rabbi Refson of UGA Chabad. Please join us on Tuesday, September 20 from 12-1pm on the lawn outside of the law school for a lunch of bagels, shmear, and lox! In addition to the nosh, the Rabbi will be hosting a JLSA Q&A, so please come with any and all questions. Topics include, but are not limited to: Judaism in general, Judaic law, and the intersection of American and Jewish law. All are welcome, so bring a chair or blanket (don’t forget the library checks out picnic blankets) and come lunch and learn!

Federal Judge Zahid Quraishi on Diversity in the Judicial Sector of Law

Judge Quraishi would like to go over diversity in the judicial area of law along with his experiences starting with being a JAG officer for the Army, then a magistrate Judge, before becoming the first South Asian Muslim appointed by President Biden to an Article III court. He would also like to talk about clerkships and how to apply as a diverse law student.
