The goal of this series is to break the silence around mental health in the law community by featuring a diverse panel of Georgia Law faculty, staff, students, and alum who will speak candidly and openly about their personal experiences and challenges. This event invites us all to be vulnerable and empathetic. We are not talking about numbers and statistics; rather, our speakers offer their own personal accounts on mental health and wellness.

150 Years of Voting in America presented by Georgia Law Review

The day-long virtual symposium will discuss a range of topics related to voting in the United States, including the history of the Civil Rights and Suffrage movements, the Electoral College, and the future of voting rights litigation. This past election cycle has highlighted the importance of emerging swing states like Georgia. We invite students, practitioners, scholars, and any other interested parties to join us for this exciting discussion. The event is free to UGA students, staff, faculty, community members, and attorneys not seeking CLE credit.

New GA Voting Machines Demo

As of the March 2020 Presidential Preference Primary election, Athens-Clarke County voters will begin using new voting equipment for the first time in nearly 20 years. The new system is paper based, while still using secure technology for voter accuracy. The new system is managed by the Georgia Secretary of State's office for use throughout Georgia and completely replaces the previous voting system.

William B. Gould IV is Charles A. Beardsley Professor of Law, Emeritus, at Stanford Law School. A prolific scholar of labor and discrimination law, Gould has been an influential voice in worker-management relations for more than fifty years and served as Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB, 1994-98) and subsequently Chairman of the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board (2014-2017).
