2021 Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast

Hamilton Holmes Jr., son of Hamilton Holmes Sr. and a business development director for Pieper O'Brien Herr Architects in Alpharetta, will present the keynote address for the 18th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Breakfast.

In place of the traditional ticketed breakfast, the event will be celebrated with a video premiere on Friday, Jan. 15 at 9 a.m. on UGA's Facebook page. This virtual event is free and open to the public. The theme for this year's program is, "The Power of the Dream: Forging a Path Forward."

These cover everything from student loan repayment to the importance of credit scores. She will also be answering questions directly from you! 9@9 with Lauren Allen of the Kansas City Housing Authority

Beginning on March 3 and each following Wednesday at 9 a.m., Career Development and Advancement will host eight students and one attorney over zoom for small group networking over coffee, or a morning beverage of choice. The series, titled 9@9, is designed to create more intimate networking and learning sessions for students. Each session will be about 40 minutes: 30 minutes to hear from the Attorney and then about 10 minutes for questions.

This event is envisioned to be a more informal setting to interact with UGA Law alumni.

Join us on Thursday, February 27, 2020, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the University of Georgia School of Law's Larry Walker Room in Rusk Hall for "The IP of IPAs", a conference hosted by the Journal of Intellectual Property Law, to hear Brian Roth (Southern Brewing Co.), Chase Scott (Taylor, Feil, Harper & Lumsden, P.C.), and Dustin Watts (Terrapin Beer Co.) discuss how breweries are navigating intellectual property issues. Limited alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food will be provided.
