School of Law Parking

The North Campus Parking Deck offers convenient parking for visiting the University of Georgia School of Law.  Visitors should enter the Parking Deck's Main Entrance on 230 S. Jackson Street. View Google Map.  If you are visiting the law school for admissions purposes, you may pick up a complimentary parking pass for the North Deck at the Admissions Office. 

Consult UGA Parking Services to register for parking. Click the "register for parking" button at the top of the screen to begin registration. You will need your UGA MyID and passwod to register.

In addition to the North Campus Parking deck, there are two additional prking lots are located off Lumpkin Street: the University Bookstore/Tate Student Center parking lot and the South Campus Deck adjacent to the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.  The Carlton Street Deck is located to the south of Stegeman Coliseum and the North Campus Parking Deck which can be entered from Jackson Street.  In addition, the Campus Parking Map can be enlarged to see building and parking deck labels.

Take I-85 north to GA-316, exit 106, near Lawrenceville, GA.  Follow GA-316 east < 40 miles>.  Shortly before entering Athens, GA-316 ends and the road continues as Epps Bridge Road.  Take Epps Bridge Road  <2.5  miles> until it merges with US-78 (Business) east, also called Atlanta Highway and Broad Street.  Follow US-78 (Business) east into town <3.2  miles>.  After passing the Holiday Inn and the northern edge of campus, turn right onto Jackson Street, proceed to the North Campus Parking Deck where visitors may park for a fee.  Walk across Jackson Street, go up the stairs, and follow the sidewalk to the quadrangle.  The Law School will be ahead on the left.

(b)  From southeast Atlanta:

As US-441 north approaches Athens, take the Milledge Ave. exit.  At the end of the exit ramp turn left onto Milledge Avenue.  Follow Milledge Avenue approximately 1.4 miles until it intersects with Lumpkin Street and turn right onto Lumpkin Street.  Immediately before this intersection is a Waffle House restaurant.  Continue on Lumpkin Street approximately 1.4 miles and turn right onto Broad Street.  Continue one block to Jackson Street.  Turn right onto Jackson Street, proceed to the North Campus Parking Deck where visitors may park for a fee.  Walk across Jackson Street, go up the stairs, and follow the sidewalk to the quadrangle.  The Law School will be ahead on the left.

From the North via US-441

Take US-441 south from its intersection with I-85 at exit 149 near Commerce  <21 miles>.  Approaching Athens, leave US-441 south at its intersection with US-129 and GA-10 and proceed straight on Martin Luther King Parkway (a two-lane road) <0.4 miles>.  At its intersection with College Avenue, turn right and follow College Avenue <0.9 miles> until it terminates in town at Broad Street.  Turn left onto Broad Street and at the next intersection turn right onto Jackson Street.  Proceed to the North Campus Parking Deck where visitors may park for a fee.  Walk across Jackson Street, go up the stairs, and follow the sidewalk to the quadrangle.  The Law School will be ahead on the left.

From the East via US-78

When approaching Athens on US-78 west,  continue on US-78 (Business) west at the Athens Perimeter Road.  No turn is necessary.  US-78  (Business) west will traverse Oak Street, Oconee Street and Broad Street <1.3 miles>.  In town, turn left onto Jackson Street, proceed to the North Campus Parking Deck where visitors may park for a fee.  Walk across Jackson Street, go up the stairs, and follow the sidewalk to the quadrangle.  The Law School will be ahead on the left.

The UGA Visitor's Center "photo" directions provide visual driving clues along Athens area thoroughfares to the campus. However, the Center is located on south campus approximately three miles from the School of Law which is located on north campus (and adjacent to downtown Athens).

Atlanta Airport

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is located approximately 80 miles from Athens. Hartsfield is served by more than 25 national and international airlines.

Staying in Athens

There are numerous lodging options available within the Athens area. Many accommodations are within walking distance of the University of Georgia campus.  The Holiday Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Hotel Indigo, and Georgia Center are the nearest accommodations to the School of Law.

Parking:

If you will have a car and will need a parking spot, you will need to register and pay for parking on the University of Georgia Campus. After creating your UGA MyID, you may register online for parking between April 15 and July 1, 2014.

  • Select Academic Year or Calendar year for the time period of your parking pass.
  • Choose up to five lots in order of preference.  Prices are color coded on the online map.  If you do not receive your first choice, you will remain on a waiting list for that lot.  Many law students choose to park in the North Parking Deck (N06) on Jackson Street.
