Student Scholarship

Henry Getzen Neal Fund -

The purpose of the Fund is to provide financial assistance for first-year law students enrolled at the University of Georgia School of Law. 

Thomas B. Murphy Scholarship - 

The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarship support for students at the University of Georgia School of Law. The principal selection criteria is financial need. 

Judge & Mrs. Harold L. Murphy '49 Scholarship -

The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarship support for deserving students in the School of Law who are residents of the state of Georgia. Recipients shall be selected based on the following criteria:

• Those who graduated magna cum laude or higher from their undergraduate institution;
• Those who maintain an impeccable reputation and character;
• Those who demonstrate great promise of leadership and achievement.

C. Read Morton, Jr. and William "Billy" P. Payne Scholarship Fund - 

The purpose of the Fund is to provide financial assistance for law study to a student or students who meet the following selection criteria:

Milner S. Ball Fellowship Fund -

The purpose is to provide funding to allow the School to have a lasting tribute to the memory of beloved Professor Ball and financially support law students in good standing seeking public interest/pro bono service opportunities during their first and second summers in law school.

Kenneth L. Millwood Memorial Scholarship -

The purpose of the Fund is to provide one student a named, need-based scholarship within the School of Law at the University of Georgia, as such need is determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid at the University of Georgia. Each student selected to receive this scholarship shall be selected solely on the basis of need and without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or any other status. 

Michael Louis Goldberg Scholarship -

The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarship support for a student(s) in the School who played sports in high school or college. First preference shall be given to students who participated at the college level.

Walter McElreath Fund -

Established in 1959 by Mrs. Walter McElreath in memory of her husband for the promotion of education by the University of Georgia in the field of Constitutional Law and Constitutional History for the benefit of the state of Georgia and its people.

Loudermilk Family First-Start Scholars Fund - 

The purpose of the Fund is to provide support for a first-generation law student, residing in the state of Georgia, with preference for a student from a rural county. The Fund will provide a half-tuition scholarship award, support for summer work or travel during law school, and resources for expenses related to the student's third year including bar exam preparation, the job search process, and law school graduation.

Liles and Charlie Thompson JD/MBA Scholarship Fund - 

The purpose of the Fund is to provide merit-based scholarship support for a student(s) pursuing a JD/MBA degree. First preference shall be given to Georgia residents. Second preference shall be given to students who have overcome substantial hardship or challenges.
