Peter J. Duitsman is the assistant general counsel at Turner Broadcasting System after previously serving as counsel and senior counsel to the company. He provides leadership in the evaluation of business opportunities as well as negotiation and drafting of related agreements and collaborating with clients and relevant stakeholders. He also focuses on assessing business and legal risks, analyzing alternatives and strategies, and executing business plans and initiatives with respect to business, production, legal and contractual matters.
Prior to coming to Turner, Duitsman served as an associate for Troutman Sanders in Atlanta, and he offered legal support and representation of clients in product liability, commercial property disputes, and complex contractual and intellectual property matters. He also served as a judicial extern for Senior Judge W. Earl Britt of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
Duitsman earned his bachelor's degree magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina and his juris doctor degree with honors from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where he served on the University of North Carolina Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
