Georgia Department of Economic Development

Externs gain legal experience by providing support to the General and Associate Counsels as they assist the Georgia Department of Economic Development’s business units.  Such substantive legal work will include contract review and negotiation, responding to Georgia Open Records Requests, conducting general legal research, learning about Georgia Tax Incentive Programs, assisting with the drafting of legal rules and regulations, and assisting with the drafting and negotiation of incentive and performance agreements. Students may request a hybrid schedule with some days working in office and some working virtually.
