The Carl Vinson Institute of Government helps public officials throughout Georgia and around the world on a range of government initiatives. CVIOG faculty includes both J.D.s and Ph.D.s that use their expertise to assist governmental clients in achieving difficult objectives. Law students in the State and Local Government Services division will work with a faculty member that is an attorney on projects that require legal research and writing as well as interaction with public officials, including: assisting in all aspects of a charter review commission study, analyzing, drafting and reviewing local charters and ordinances, developing local policies, and assisting with presentations for local governments and statewide conferences.
