If you plan to drive a car, motorcycle, or scooter to campus, you will need a UGA parking permit. Once you have received your UGA MyID and have paid your Second Deposit, you may register online for parking once registration opens on April 23, 2025. Information and instructions are on the Parking Services website.

Parking permits are assigned based on a Priority System. While you are able to choose only one option if you wish, for the BEST CHANCE of receiving a parking permit, select five lot options in order of preference by June 20, 2025. Many law students choose to park in the North Deck (N06) on Jackson Street. Below is the recommended list of lots to select:

  • N06 – North Deck
  • N02
  • N12
  • W05
  • W17

You will accept your parking permit through your email that will be sent to you if you are awarded a permit. If you are buying a motorcycle/scooter permit, you have the opportunity to pick up your pass before Orientation from Parking Services. Round 1 assignments will be issued after July 4, 2025. An announcement will be sent out via email. To ensure you receive a parking permit and a designated space to park on campus, Parking Services recommends you accept the first assignment by the deadline in the award email. Rounds 2 and 3 will open after these assignments have been announced.

Please Note

  • Law students do not have priority in the North Deck and are considered graduate students within the Priority System. Law students should pick lots where Graduate Residents/Commuters have the highest priority.
  • If you do not receive a parking assignment in Round 1, you will stay on the waitlists you previously set up when registering. You can go in and make changes to your selections at any time. If you don't like the permit you get or you don't get awarded one, make sure your waitlists stays current for future assignment rounds.
  • The law school is not involved in the parking assignment process and will not be able to assist students with parking issues. Students will need to work with Parking Services directly.
  • Parking registration occurs each spring for permits valid the following fall. Your parking assignment does not roll over from one academic year to the next. You are not guaranteed a parking assignment if you do not register.
  • Since Parking charges are sent by semester, your permit will renew at the end of each semester. Please make sure you are selecting the correct expiration dates for your needs.
    • If you select December expiration your permit will not renew at the end of that semester.
    • If you select May expiration your permit will renew in December for the Spring semester.
    • If you select July expiration your permit will renew in December for Spring and in April for Summer.
