Congratulations to Administrative Assistant Nikko Terry, who was selected for the 2023 Emma Terrell Distinguished Employee Award. Presented annually by the Law School Staff Representative Group, the award recognizes “individuals who have demonstrated a strong work ethic, commitment to service, and exceptional job performance as well as the cooperation needed to ensure the School of Law meets and exceeds its goals.”
Her nomination read:
“Nikko goes above and beyond her job duties to help the law school fulfill its role. No one is a stranger to her, she makes everyone feel welcome. There have been too many instances to name just one where she has come to the aid of admin staff. She shares her time and knowledge with anyone who has a question or an issue that needs resolution.
Nikko's relationships with the students are amazing. Walking down the hall with her, most students will wave or tell her hello, with a big smile. She makes them feel like a friend, not just a body.
Her interactions with the professors and administration staff are worth admiration. I've seen professors coming down the hall for a lunch meeting and when they round the corner and see Nikko standing there, they break into a beaming smile.
Nikko deserves the [Emma Terrell] Distinguished Employee Award for her dedication to her job, and to the students, for her commitment and cooperation with her coworkers, and for her ability to make it a pleasure to attend, and work, at the University of Georgia School of Law.”
