Third-year students Haley K. Kairab and Donavan C. Juleus recently won a regional title in the National Trial Competition, advancing to the national tier of the tournament to be held during April. Hosted by the Texas Young Lawyers Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers, this competition attracts teams from more than 140 law schools and involves more than 1,000 law students each year.
A second UGA team, composed of third-year students Varad R. Dabke and Charles D. Calkins and second-year student G. Max Miseyko, also performed well in the regional battle.
Adjunct professors Jeremy Dailey and Edward Brumby coached the teams, respectively. The "witnesses" who helped prepare the teams were second-year students Anna C. Scartz, Joshua A. Allen, Santela M. Sparks, Sam R. Raley, Cason B. Smith and Michael A. Everett as well as third-year student Kayla S. Hope.
