About
The School of Law’s First-Generation Student Association (FGSA) aims to enhance the academic success, professional growth and personal development of First-Generation Students at the University of Georgia School of Law. We serve as an organizing force around the social, academic, emotional, and financial issues relevant to first-generation students both within and outside of the law school environment. We strive to foster a community of like-minded individuals facing similar difficulties.
Our goal is to help first-generation students learn how to navigate law school as well as foster relationships with fellow students, legal professionals and the community. FGSA encourages students to learn about and celebrate the different backgrounds individuals bring to law school and the legal profession. We aspire to enhance diversity and inclusion at the University of Georgia School of Law through the promotion of understanding among students and acts of service, outreach, and mentor-ship in the community surrounding the law school.
The FGSA is an inclusive organization that welcomes any student, regardless of their first-generation status, but that shares in the same vision of support for first-generation students.
