Biographical Information

Torin D. Togut is currently engaged in the private practice of law, concentrating on special education, education, civil rights, civil litigation, employment discrimination and the Americans with Disabilities Act. No stranger to UGA, Togut served as the law school's Cousins Public Interest Fellow from 2006 to 2008. Thereafter, he served as an adjunct professor and the managing attorney of the Special Education Practicum, which introduced students to negotiation and advocacy for children of indigent parents in special education cases. Before coming to UGA, Togut worked for Georgia Legal Services as a specialist attorney in mental health, health and education. He also worked in private practice in Georgia and Vermont representing children, adolescents and adults in the areas of disabilities, special education, mental health, disability rights and civil rights. He has given more than 125 professional presentations on the topics of special education and disability law.
