Working with the Corporate In-House Legal Division of the world's largest beverage company.
Type of work:
We are a total beverage company. From our passion for what people want, we bring people everywhere more of the brands they love. From one brand to over 500, we are Coca-Cola…and so much more.
Each semester The Coca-Cola Company pairs law students with experienced attorneys across a variety of practice areas. Placements vary depending on the Company’s legal needs and the students' professional interests. Past externs have been paired with attorneys specializing in trademark law, patent law, marketing law, corporate law, corporate litigation, employment law and employment litigation, securities law, food law, environmental law, ethics & compliance, mergers & acquisitions, and privacy law.
Students attend weekly lectures (held on Thursdays, typically from 1:00 to 3:00 pm) given by representatives of different business/operational functions as well as Company counsel, who discuss their practice areas and career paths. Participation in the program is dependent on the student’s ability to attend these mandatory meetings. Also, students are required to attend an orientation session held on the first Thursday of the program, which will last from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. This orientation session is also mandatory.
Students may work in the following practice areas: Civil Litigation, Corporate Compliance, Corporate Law, Employment Law, Environmental Law, Food law, IP Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Patent Law, and Securities law.
Note: Student must be available to attend meetings with other externs on Thursday afternoons from 1:00-3:00 p.m. This is a hybrid (in-person/virtual) externship.
