The Law School will send a certificate of graduation for each UGA Law graduate to the Georgia Office of Bar Admissions that permits you to sit for the July Georgia Bar Examination. You have to request a final official academic transcript from the UGA Registrar's Office to be sent to the Georgia Office of Bar Admissions. Your UGA Transcript can be requested online at http://www.reg.uga.edu/transcripts.
We are aware that the Office of Bar Admissions sends a letter requesting a transcript prior to the July Bar Examination. That information is for other applicants, not Georgia Law graduates. A copy of the rules regarding the certificate of graduation for graduates of Georgia law schools can be found at www.gabaradmissions.org. This information is on page 9 of the Supreme Court of Georgia Rules Governing Admission to the Practice of Law which is Section 4, Part B, (c) lines 8?17.
Remember, you must request an official academic transcript from the UGA Registrar's Office to be sent to the Georgia Office of Bar Admissions. Do not request the transcript from the Law School Registrar's Office. If you are sitting for a Bar in another state, please read their policies and procedures.
