For the ninth straight year, University of Georgia graduates lead the state in the Georgia bar exam passage rate. School of Law graduates, who sat for the July 2022 exam, posted the highest rate for first-time takers among all of the state's law schools, and almost 8% ahead of the overall first-time passage rate for Georgia law schools.
"The University of Georgia School of Law is very proud to lead all Peach State law schools with the highest first-time Georgia bar exam passage rate for the ninth straight year," Dean Peter B. "Bo" Rutledge said. "We congratulate our students on their success. While our overall passage rate exceeded 90%, we always strive for 100%, and these results dovetail with our strong Ultimate Bar Passage rate of 97.7% for the Class of 2020 (and an equally strong result anticipated for the Class of 2021). We take seriously our partnership with students and employ a variety of initiatives including bar prep course stipends, a study-buddy program and a voluntary targeted curriculum focused on writing and supplementary testing skills. As the School of Law seeks to redefine what it means to be a great national public law school, we remain committed to all of our students and will work with them to achieve future success."
