Biographical Information

Urub Khawaja joined the University of Georgia School of Law’s First Amendment Clinic as a legal fellow in August 2024.

She is a 2024 graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, where she was a staff editor for the Journal of Law and Technology at Texas and a student attorney for the Immigration Clinic and the Mithoff Pro Bono Program.

As a law student, she interned with the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University, the American Civil Liberties Union’s Speech, Privacy, and Technology Project, and the Surveillance Technology Oversight Project.

Prior to law school, Khawaja worked as a policy specialist on the Legal Investigations team at Google and was a section editor for ORANGE Magazine.

She holds a B.S. in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin.
