The purpose of the Fund is to provide supplemental salary support and requisite fringe benefits, research or teaching assistance needed but not otherwise available to the Chair; and to cover professional travel expenses, memberships, and other expenses that enhance the effectiveness of the Chair beyond those ordinarily provided by the School and the University. The Chair endowment's distributable earnings may be used, at the discretion of the Dean, to support bringing distinguished individuals to the School for a lecture, a seminar, a semester, an academic year or longer depending on the needs of the School and the needs and interests of the distinguished individual. The Chair endowment's distributable earnings shall pay for any expenditures in connection with the mission of the Chair, including any costs related to outreach or service programs. 

If the entire income generated by the Fund is not needed for the purpose as stated herein, the residual amount may be transferred to the Carl E. Sanders Law Scholarship Fund (75071003).
