Jeanne and Ralph Beaird Law Library Fund

The purpose of the Fund is to provide a resource for meeting the needs of The University of Georgia Law Library in its mission of serving as the School's research unit and center for instructional support.

The Fund commemorates the career achievements and academic contributions of J. Ralph Beaird, who served as Dean of The University of Georgia School of Law from 1976 to 1987 and as Acting Dean from 1972 to 1974. J. Ralph Beaird's tenure as Dean was marked by unparalleled improvement in the quality of legal education at the University of Georgia School of Law. The School's endowment amounted to less than $450,000 when Beaird began his administrative duties in 1972, but it grew to almost $17 million by the time he stepped down as Dean in July, 1987.
