Earlier today, U.S. News & World Report issued its latest ranking of the nation’s law schools, and once again the University of Georgia School of Law was ranked in the Top 20.
This is UGA Law's second year in a row at this position, which is its highest ever. The School of Law remains the highest ranked law school in the state of Georgia (for the fourth year) and is counted among the top seven public law schools in the nation (again).
This repeatedly strong showing at #20 reaffirms the School of Law’s sustained success in redefining what it means to be a great national public law school, especially when it is paired with other significant measures such as:
- #1 Best Value in legal education ranking for the fourth time in six years
- #4 employment rate in the nation for full-time, long-term, bar-pass required jobs (Class of 2022)
- a near perfect (99.48%) Ultimate Bar Passage Rate (Class of 2021)
- the lowest tuition among Top 20 U.S. News law schools
"All of these markers of success were achieved through the efforts of many," Dean Peter B. "Bo" Rutledge said. "You – our graduates and friends – continue to answer the call to help fund scholarships and programming, provide jobs and serve as mentors. The UGA administration, under the leadership of President Jere Morehead, and the UGA Foundation remain steadfast supporters of our school’s vision. And, our talented faculty and staff are as committed as ever to ensuring the success of each and every one of our students, who are the reasons why we are here."
He added that he greatly appreciates everyone who has played a role in the school's sustained success in offering a world-class, hands-on, purpose-driven educational experience while never surrendering its commitment to accessibility. "We truly are redefining what it means to be a great national public law school!" he said.
