Otis Brumby Distinguished Professorship in First Amendment Law -

To attract and hold an outstanding professor, the Fund was established a Distinguished Professorship with the appointment to be jointly shared by the School of Law and the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. The selection and appointment of the Professorship are subject only to the following qualifications and rules:

• The person named shall have an outstanding national reputation;
• He or she shall be a full professor with tenure;
• The holder will occupy the Professorship as long as his or her performance warrants the sole judges of both schools; and
• The schools will advise with and inform the donor representative, prior to appointment of a professor to the Professorship, of the name, qualifications, experience, and reputation of the professor proposed for appointment. The schools shall in their sole discretion determine whether these qualifications and rules have been satisfied.
