Open Access Week 2022: Open for Climate Justice

Stop by the Law Library's entrance to learn more about Open Access! This year's international Open Access Week theme is Climate Justice. We'll have several resources on hand including Open Science Data handouts and links to share. Students, faculty and staff can also pick up a variety of "movie tickets" for streaming a list of climate, open access and freedom to information documentaries.

In-Person Open House for Admitted Students

The University of Georgia School of Law invites you to attend an Open House event for Admitted Students. Please join us for the opportunity to engage with the law school community and other admitted students to learn more about experiential learning opportunities, advocacy programs, career development, and other law school resources.

The Office of Admissions will reduce attendees’ first seat deposit to $50.00 for admitted students who have not already paid their commitment deposit.

Registration information will be provided closer to the event.

Well-Being Panel presented by the GLMHA

Come join Georgia Law Mental Health Alliance on Monday, October 10 for our annual Wellbeing Week panel! This year's theme is, "What Do We Do Now?" We'll be focusing on how to take care of our mental health as law students and ways our professors can support us in that endeavor. By building self-care habits now, we can sustain them in our future. Our panel features Professors Coenen, Beck, and Rodrigues and 3L students ChiChi Drayton-Smith and David Lerner. Food will be available on a first come, first-serve basis. See you there! 

37th Annual Equal Justice Foundation Auction

The EJF Auction is designed to raise money to support students working in public interest. The annual auction is a fun event, open to the entire law school community as well as graduates of the law school, that features silent and live auctions of professor packages and donated items from the community. Food will be served and beverages will be available for purchase. 

Red Clay Conference

The Red Clay Conference is an annual student-run conference at the University of Georgia School of Law, established to increase public awareness of environmental issues. The 35th annual conference is titled Climate Change Innovation: Stakeholders and Tools and will discuss climate change stakeholders and identify the legal tools they are using to combat climate change. The conference will be held Friday, February 10, from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. in the Larry Walker Room of Dean Rusk Hall on the UGA campus. 

2022 State of the Public’s Health Conference

Convening the public health workforce, policymakers, academia, community-based organizations and others passionate about improving the public’s health, the State of the Public’s Health Conference aims to drive meaningful, solutions-oriented discussion to advance the health of all Georgians. Now in its 11th year, the conference will explore approaches to tackle the most pressing public health issues affecting Georgia communities today, including mental health care access, maternal and child health, and health equity.
