We are excited to join ACS student and lawyer chapters across Georgia for a panel that will examine barriers to registering to vote, navigating acceptance of ballots, and structural issues that prevent votes from translating into representation. The panelists will conclude with a discussion of on-going legal and advocacy efforts to secure the right to vote.

Koru Mindfulness Series

We're bringing mindfulness to the School of Law! Join Professor Heather Simmons for a 4-week workshop on mindfulness to prepare for Final Exams.

Koru Mindfulness is a free, 4-session course that will teach you the skills and practices for mindfulness. Students who have completed Koru report feeling more mindful, less stressed, better rested, and less self-judgment.

We're facilitating this Koru series specifically for Law students, so grab a friend and come join us at the following times:

CDC and Prevention Office General Counsel: Small Group Externship Information Sessions

The HHS Office of the General Counsel, CDC Branch, will be holding virtual "Office Hours" on February 24, from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m., for students interested in learning more about CDC, its legal office, and externship/internship opportunities with the agency. Students will register for a 30-minute small group session between 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Beginning on March 3 and each following Wednesday at 9 a.m., Career Development and Advancement will host eight students and one attorney over zoom for small group networking over coffee, or a morning beverage of choice. The series, titled 9@9, is designed to create more intimate networking and learning sessions for students. Each session will be about 40 minutes: 30 minutes to hear from the Attorney and then about 10 minutes for questions.

This event is envisioned to be a more informal setting to interact with UGA Law alumni.
