Justice Robert Benham (J.D.'70), the longest serving and first African American member of the Supreme Court of Georgia, will present UGA's 2020 Holmes-Hunter Lecture Feb. 3 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel.

Named in honor of Charlayne Hunter-Gault and Hamilton Holmes, the first African American students to attend UGA, the lecture is sponsored by the Office of the President and focuses on race relations, civil rights and education. It has been held annually since 1985.

Susan R. Lambreth is a founding Principal at LawVision and is nationally recognized as one of the top leadership, practice group and project management consultants for law firms. For over 25 years, she has helped law firms of all sizes improve their profitability and enhance their lawyers' leadership and management skills.

Monica Bell is an Associate Professor of Law at Yale Law School and an Associate Professor of Sociology at Yale University. Her areas of expertise include criminal justice, welfare law, housing, race and the law, qualitative research methods, and law and sociology. The title of her presentation is "The Case for Racism Response Funds: A Collective Response to Racist Acts."

Professor Thomas Kadri will be the host for this lecture.
