First Amendment Clinic Fellow Samantha Hamilton will moderate a panel discussion regarding the growing trend of using rap lyrics as evidence during trials. The panel will feature Associate Dean & Martin Chair Andrea L. Dennis who recently authored the book Rap on Trial. Other panelists will include ATHFactor-Liberty Entertainment founder Montu Miller and Athens-Clarke County Commissioner and hip hop artist Mariah Parker. Introductory remarks will be given by Western Judicial Circuit District Attorney Deborah Gonzalez. The event will be hosted by the Athens/Georgia chapter of the American Constitution Society.
