Georgia Election Bill Discussion

This event features Georgia Representative Barry Fleming, alumni of Georgia Law, who authored the new Georgia Election Bill. Mr. Fleming will speak about how he used his background as an attorney to help address the issues that needed to be fixed with the new election bill as well as address some common misconceptions about the bill. He will share the process of how a bill becomes a law in the state of Georgia. Mr. Fleming will also talk about how he became a state legislator and how he uses his law degree in this role while simultaneously managing his own private law firm.

First-generation college and law students are invited to drop in for a coffee break! Come meet your fellow first-gen classmates. No set topic, but a special guest may occasionally drop by. Whether you can drop in for 5 minutes or a full hour, we would love to see you for a little coffee talk!

Law Library Fest

All of our new students are invited to join us for Law Library Fest 2022! From 10am-3pm on Monday 8/15, we will be offering library tours and will have a variety of stations set up to answer all of your questions about: checking out materials, reference desk support, wellness and stress busters, IT, legal research databases, and more. Snacks, swag, highlighters, pens, study buddies, legal research resources - we have it all! Grab a passport in the foyer that morning and collect stamps as you visit our stations.
