Accuracy & Justice is a project to bring together exonerated death row survivors and criminal justice practitioners, including groups of law enforcement officers, prosecutors, judges, or other professionals, in facilitated workshops about the causes of wrongful convictions and potential strategies for enhancing conviction integrity and reducing wrongful convictions in the future. Life as a District Court Judge with the Honorable William M. Ray, II

The Federal Bar Association is proud to host the Honorable William M. Ray II from the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Before obtaining this position, Judge Ray served on the bench of the Georgia Court of Appeals for six years and the Superior Court in the Gwinnett Judicial Circuit for 10 years. He will be discussing a variety of topics, including judicial ethical rules, working relationships with litigators, and clerkships.

We will cover how to research attorneys, firms, and relevant practice areas on Lexis as well as look at our job-search-microsite that has all the resources you'll need to knock an interview out of the park!

Holmes-Hunter Lecture delivered by Justice Verda Colvin (J.D.'90)

The Honorable Verda M. Colvin, a Georgia Supreme Court justice and UGA School of Law alumna, will present the 2023 Holmes-Hunter Lecture. 

Named in honor of Charlayne Hunter-Gault and Hamilton Holmes Sr., the first African American students to attend the University of Georgia, the lecture is sponsored by the Office of the President and focuses on race relations, civil rights and education. It has been held annually since 1985.

Coffee Talk is a casual social event held on the first and third Tuesday of each month. (Some exceptions apply due to conflicts.)

First-generation college and law students are invited to drop in for a coffee break! Come meet your fellow first-gen classmates. No set topic, but a special guest may occasionally drop by. Whether you can drop in for 5 minutes or a full hour, we would love to see you for a little coffee talk!

SBA - Build Your Own Terrarium (BYOT)

Join SBA and fellow law students at Foxglove Plant Bar and build your own terrarium on Friday, January 27 from 5-7 PM! You can come any time during this time frame (but please arrive by 6:30 at the latest to ensure you can finish assembling your terrarium).

There are a few different pricing options so please read carefully:

1. The first 12 SBA members to fill out this form - the cost is $15 per person.

2. Non-SBA members - the cost is $30 per person (this is a discounted price from their normal cost).
