Connie Brenton serves as Chief of Staff and Senior Director of Legal Operations at NetApp Inc. Connie leverages her legal and business experience to foster continuous improvement in the NetApp legal department, which has been recognized internationally for its innovation in the areas of strategic vision, use of technology, new staffing/sourcing solutions, partner and financial management, efficiency gains and world-class operating metrics. She also founded the Corporate Legal Operations Consortium (CLOC).

For 1Ls: a concise and targeted professional introduction will become a key part of your career success. Learn how to create your own elevator speech, and gain insights about when you will need it.

There are 3 sessions. Please register in LawDawgDash events for the one that fits your schedule.

Beginning on March 3 and each following Wednesday at 9 a.m., Career Development and Advancement will host eight students and one attorney over zoom for small group networking over coffee, or a morning beverage of choice. The series, titled 9@9, is designed to create more intimate networking and learning sessions for students. Each session will be about 40 minutes: 30 minutes to hear from the Attorney and then about 10 minutes for questions.

This event is envisioned to be a more informal setting to interact with UGA Law alumni.

Kunoor Chopra leads Elevate's Legal Services department defining and designing custom solutions that combine people, process, and technology to meet unique customer needs. Prior to joining Elevate in 2012, Kunoor was the Founder, President and CEO of LawScribe, Inc., a pioneer legal process outsourcing company formed in 2004 to provide litigation, corporate and intellectual property support services to law firms and corporations.

The Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) program is a route to post-grad higher level employment within the U.S. government. Positions are fast-tracked policy, management and other jobs, not specifically attorney positions (the J.D. is a valued degree, however).

Join this workshop to learn about the program, options, and hiring procedures. It is recommended that 3Ls attend and learn if you think you might want to apply, as the process differs from typical law job hiring.

If you are interested in a career practicing business law in Georgia, you may have cases before the new Georgia Business Court. Join Judge Walt Davis and one of his law clerks to learn more about the court and opportunities to advance your career by working for the court, either as an extern during the school year or summer or as a post-grad law clerk for the court. Judge Davis will describe the jurisdiction and procedures of the court and talk about the kinds of cases and controversies that he is hearing since the court began operations on August 1 of this year.
