The Ethics & Regulation of Lawyers Worldwide: Comparative and Interdisciplinary Perspectives

There are two ways to participate in ILEC VII: 1) submit a full program proposal, including a title, short description, and, if available, a partial or full list of proposed speakers, and indicate which of the eight streams listed below best encompasses your program proposal; or 2) submit an individual paper proposal within one of these eight streams.  The program planning committee will attempt to group individual papers around common themes in order to create coherent programs.  If you submit a full program proposal (highly preferred), please indicate if you intend to speak on that program.

Everyone who plans to attend ILEC VII – whether you are submitting a program/paper or simply attending the presentations - must Register Here for the conference.

We strongly encourage program proposals to include speakers from multiple countries, and we particularly encourage speakers from countries that traditionally have been underrepresented at ILECs.  Additionally, we encourage ideas for programs on topics that are relevant to lawyers from multiple jurisdictions and cut across different legal traditions or regions.
Proposals for papers and/or programs are invited from scholars from all relevant academic disciplines, legal professionals, judges and students.  Presenters are encouraged to identify programs/papers within one of the following streams:

 ●Culture, Technology, Ethics and Society
●Empirical Perspectives on the Legal Profession and Legal Ethics
●Interdisciplinary Approaches to the Legal Profession
 ●Philosophy and Legal Ethics
●Regulation of the Legal Profession and Judiciary
 ●Ethics and Legal Education
 ●Globalization and the Legal Profession
●Rule of Law and the Legal Profession

The Conference will be organized into 90 minute program sessions. We invite innovative and non-traditional formats and can support PowerPoint and other technologies. In order to accommodate a diverse group of presenters, participants should not plan to present in more than two events.
