Biographical Information: 

Lisa Godbey Wood currently serves as the chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. Prior to her judicial appointment, Wood served as the U.S. attorney in Savannah, Georgia. She is the first female to hold each post. For 14 years, she tried cases across Georgia, with subject matter ranging from products liability to death penalty defense.

Wood is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. She earned both her bachelor’s degree and law degree from UGA.
