Biographical Information: 

Judge Jeffrey S. Sutton presently serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. He was nominated by President George W. Bush and was confirmed in 2003.

Prior to serving on the U.S. Court of Appeals, Sutton was the solicitor general of Ohio from 1985-88. He has also worked in private practice, and has served as an adjunct professor of law at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and as a visiting lecturer at Harvard Law School.

Sutton earned his bachelor’s degree from Williams College and his law degree from The Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law.
